Toronto Chinese Folk Art Centre (TCFC) was founded in 1998, and formally registered in 2014. Since 2006, TCFC has hosted Chinese New Year Performance annually. Spring Festival is the most solemn traditional festival for the Asian community, especially Chinese people. By celebrating Chinese New Year, people summarize the achievements of the past year and look forward to the future. Through New Year Celebration event, seniors also have an opportunity to interact with the rest of the community, reducing social isolation. In 2020, the pandemic has a huge impact on the ways people gathering. For the 2021 Chinese New Year Performance, TCFC choose to use YouTube live broadcast to give excellent Chinese artists, especially senior and youth artists, the stage of performing to the audience, starting their art career.
